Frosted Crushed oreo milk chocolate chip cookies

Frosted Crushed oreo chocolate chip cookies

So I had a lot of oreos and decided to make two treats with them. These are a chocolate cookie with crushed oreos. These did not flatten out at all,so they look like mounds! Next time I will likely smoosh them a bit to flatten them. would not bake these longer than 10 minutes because they might dry out.

Reminders – scoop your flour from your flour bag into your measuring cup so you get the correct amount. I chilled these for a few hours because I always chill my cookie dough in hopes they do not flatten too much. And, preheat your oven to 350 degrees for 20 minutes before baking

  • Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 20 oreos, finely ground
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3 tbs cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup baking cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips

Cream butter, sugar, brown sugar and powdered sugar. Add egg, oil and vanilla. Blend in dry ingredients. Add crushed oreos. Divide dough into 12 even pieces. Chill in fridge a few hours. Preheat oven to 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Line a cookie sheet with nonstick baking liners. Stagger cookies on sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Do not overtake. Cool completely

  • Frosting ingredients
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1-2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup fluff
  • Heavy cream

Directions – blend butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and fluff. Add enough cream to get the consistency you want. Frost cooled cookies. Store in covered container.

Thanks for stopping by today. If you make these let me know how they turn out. And remember, to be kind. We are all battling something and need kindness.

Red velvet Oreo bars with fudge topping

Red velvet Oreo bars with fudge topping

Today’s treat would be perfect for Valentine’s Day, or any day really – red velvet Oreo bars topped with a fudge-like topping. Any flavor cake mix would be good, but I went with red velvet here. These are quite sweet, but are a huge hit when I have made them in the past.

So sweet!

Quick reminder – preheat your oven to 350 degrees for 20 minutes before baking So your oven cycles to the right temperature when the bars go in. And don’t cook these longer than 15 minutes. Any longer, and they might dry out.

Yum!
  • Cake bars ingredients
  • 1 red velvet cake mix, 15.25 oz (around that size. You can also use another flavor)
  • 1 stick of butter, melted
  • 2 eggs

Directions – preheat oven to 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Line a 9×13 pan with tin foil and spray with baking spray. In a bowl, combine cake mix, butter and eggs. Spray your hands with Pam,or moisten with water and press dough into prepared hand. Bake 15 minutes. Cool completely.

Is this velvet?😁
  • Fudge topping
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp vanilla

In a sauce pan, over low-medium heat, bring butter, evaporated milk and sugar to a boil. Remove from heat. Stir in chips until melted. Add vanilla. Let cool a few minutes. Pour over red velvet layer.

Voila!

Top with crushed oreos (you can crush them in a food processor or with a rolling pin. Or if you are made, you can smash them in a plastic bag with a rolling pin!)

Oreos make everything better

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have a wonderful day filled with peace, joy and love. Remember to be kind. Your kindness may be the difference in someone’s day.

Football Friday treats – divisional playoff weekend

Cake mix cookies stuffed with oreos and topped with fudge frosting

The football Friday treat for NFL Divisional playoff weekend – cake mix cookies, stuffed with Oreos and topped with a fudge frosting. I think they worthy of something as big as divisional playoff weekend. Go Bills!

The only reminders I have is to preheat your oven to 350 degrees for 20 minutes so it cycles to the right temp. Also, take them out after about 10 minutes. They may not look “done,” but if you leave them in too long, they could try out. Oh, and if you don’t want the fudge frosting, you can sprinkle the warm cookies with powdered sugar instead.

A reminder to scoop your flour from your flour bag into you measuring cup. Also, form your dough into high mounds and chill these overnight. And,preheat your oven for 20 minutes before baking so your oven cycles to the right temp for baking

Still trying to use up my extra large box of Oreos,so I decided to finely crush them up, toss them in my brownie mix cookies. Then frost them with chocolate ganache (a fancy name for melted chocolate) and top with more finely crushed Oreos. These came out a little flatter than I prefer, so I may add a little more flour and a tbs of cornstarch next time to see if that helps them stay puffier.

😋

  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tbs vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbs water
  • 3 /4 cup finely crushed oreos

  • Ganache ingredients
  • 3/4 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Directions – in a microwave safe bowl, heat both types of chips for one minute. Set aside. In another microwave safe bowl, heat cream for one minute. Pour over chips, let set 10 minutes. Stir smooth. Frost completely cooled cookies. Top with crushed Oreos. Store in covered container.

I went a little crazy with the ganache!

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you have a wonderful day, filled with joy and love. Remember to be kind. We are all fighting a battle… Some are more difficult than others.

Chocolate Oreo cookies

Chocolate Oreo cookies

I have a rather large bag of Oreos to use up, so instead of making different kinds of cookies to stuff, I ground some up and tossed them in these cookies. And they are frosted with a simple vanilla frosting. I used Crisco in these, but softened butter would probably work well too

Finally was able to order our replacement stove today! Yay! It is arriving on Wednesday! It has been a guessing game baking the last two months! At least the treats have all turned out well!

Yum!

Mini Oreo stuffed inside a sugar cookie stuffed inside a brownie

Big game for the Bills – against the Titans on Monday Night Football. So I upped my treat game -a mini Oreo stuffes inside a sugar cookie stuffed inside a brownie, with a chocolate blobby of frosting on top., why the frosting? I do not know. It seemed like the right call. Is it necessary? I believe the answer is yes.

😋
  • Ingredients list
  • 2 boxes of brownie mix, plus ingredients listed on the boxes
  • Sugar cookie mix, plus ingredients listed on box/bag
  • Mini oreos

Directions – preheat oven to 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Line a 9×13 pan with tin foil and spray with baking spray. In a bowl, combine brownie mixes and ingredients listed on boxes. Gently press into brownie dough in pan in 4 rows of 4. Bake 28 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center of brownie dough comes out with a few moist crumbs. Cool completley. Cut. You can frost these if you would like. Store in covered container.

Chocolate chip sugar cookies stuffed with Oreos

An Oreo stuffed inside a chocolate chip sugar cookie

I have an abundance of Oreos so in an attempt to use them up, I decided to stuff them inside a chocolate chip sugar cookie. I used a Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix and added some chocolate chips. Then I stuffed an Oreo inside. And as soon as I took them out of the oven, I sprinkled them with powdered sugar. Feel free to use any cookie recipe (or mix).

  • Ingredients
  • 1 sugar cookie mix
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 tbs water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Oreos
Cookie monster at it again!

Directions – preheat oven to 375 degrees for 20 minutes. In a bowl, combine cookie mix, butter, water and egg. Mix well. Add chips. Scoop out 3 tbs of dough. Evenly form around an Oreo. Stagger on a cookie sheet lined with nonstick baking liners. Bake 10 to 14 minutes, until light golden on bottom. Immediately sprinkle with powdered sugar after removing from oven. Cool completely. Store in covered container.

Stuffed cake mix cookies

Stuffed cake mix cookies (you can see the brownie peaking through)

These are a super easy treat, guaranteed to wow anyone! I used brownies to stuff these cookies. And I cut them in 2 inch squares. You can also use Oreos, mini candy bars, etc. I used a white cake mix, but feel free to mix it up. These cookies can be made in no time!

  • Ingredients
  • 1 cake mix, any flavor
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 2 to 4 tbs water
  • Oreos, cut up brownies, mini candy bars etc
These are magical! The brownie is peaking through!

Directions – preheat oven to 350 degrees for 20 minutes. In a bowl, combine cake mix, egg, oil and enough water so the dough comes together and you can work with it. Scoop out 1 1/2 tbs dough, slightly flatten. Place an oreo/brownie Square, mini candy on top. Scoop out another 1 1/2 tbs dough, slightly flatten. Place on top of oreo/brownie Square, mini candy etc. Mould dough around it. Scatter on a cookie sheet lined with nonstick baking liners or parchment paper. Bake 10 minutes. They will seem undercooked, but should be light golden on the bottom. Cool completley.

Oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies

Oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies

These are the queen of stuffed cookies. An Oreo baked inside a chocolate chip cookie. And they are a request of one of my goddaughters, Sara, for her birthday party. Rob may or may not have taste tested one, so he can vouch for me at the family party tomorrow 🙂

The original Oreo is the best!

The trick to this is to not use too much dough to surround the Oreo. Use 1 1/2 tbs on top and 1 1/2 tbs on the bottom of each Oreo. That way they are nice and puffy and perfect looking.

The Queen of stuffed cookies

Couple of other tips – I also like to use cornstarch to keep the cookies from spreading too much… Spoon your flour from your flour bag into your measuring cup… Chill the cookies at least for a few hours.. And preheat your oven to 350 degrees for 20 minutes before baking.

Staggered cookies
  • Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3 /4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1,tbs cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • Oreos!

Directions – cream butter, brown sugar and sugar. Add vanilla and eggs., fold in dry ingredients. Blend in chips. Scoop out 11/2 tbs of dough (I used a cookie scoop), slightly flatten, place an Oreo on top. Scoop out another 11/2 tbs dough, slightly flatten., place on top of Oreo. Mold dough around to completely cover cookie. Chill a few hours in fridge. Preheat oven to 350 degrees for 20 minutes. On a cookie sheet that’s been lined with nonstick baking liners or parchment paper, stagger cookies. (See pic above)

Bake 10 to 13 minutes, or until you see a few golden patches on top and bottoms of cookies are lightly golden. Cool completely. Store in covered container.

Thanks so much for stopping by today., remember to be kind to others, and yourself too. We are all battling something.

Sunday cookies

“I am nervous and we still have 3 hours to kickoff” cookies

As I continue to lose my mind with more than 3 hours to kickoff for the Bills-Chiefs game, I made cookies because I needed something to do. I made these using a sugar cookie mix, threw in some peanut butter, valentine red m&ms, and mini chocolate chips. Some are stuffed with oreos, others with a Reese’s peanut butter Cup. These will be victory Monday cookies if the Bills win, if not they, sadly, will merely be cookies.

  • Ingredients
  • 1 sugar cookie mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbs water
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup m&ms
  • 1/2 cup mini chips
  • Oreos, peanut butter cups

Directions- combine sugar cookie mix, egg, water, and butter. Blend in peanut butter. Mix in candy and chocolate chips. Scoop out 2 tbs dough and divide in half. Flatten one half, place oreo/reese’s on top. Flatten other half and place on top of oreo/reese’s. Seal edges. Chill a few hours or overnight. Preheat oven to 375 for 20 minutes. On a cookie sheet lined with nonstick baking liners, stagger cookies. Bake 10 to 12 minutes. Cookies will seem a little underdone. They should be lightly golden on the bottom. Cool completely. Store in covered container.

Go Bills!
