Chocolate chip cookies to celebrate game 1 of the World Series

So a second treat for friday.  In addition to sugar cookie bars for football friday 7, I made chocolate chip cookies for game one of the World Series between the Yankees and Dodgers (which you can hear on ESPN Radio).  These came out a little flatter than I prefer, so I will make them smaller next time.

  • Ingredients list
  • 3/4 butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Directions – in a bowl, cream butter, brown sugar and sugar.  Add eggs and vanilla.  Blend in dry ingredients, then chips.  Scoop out 1/4 cups of dough.  Chill a few hours.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.  Bake 12 to 14 minutes.  They will be a little doughy.  Pop them in the fridge to firm them up overnight.
